Ingredients:
- 2 cups black beans, dried
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups water
Instructions:
Clean the black beans by running them under cold water
Put olive oil in the pressure cooker and heat it over medium strength
Put in the minced garlic, chopped onion, and diced bell pepper
Saut until the meat is soft
Add the paprika and cumin powder and stir them in
Cook for two more minutes
Put in the black beans that have been rinsed, the bay leaf, salt, and pepper
Combine well
Put in the water and mix it in
Put the pressure cookers lid back on and cook for 25 minutes on high pressure
Let the pressure drop naturally for 10 minutes, and then carefully let go of any extra pressure
Make sure the beans are soft
If you need to, cook for 5 to 10 minutes longer
You can eat the Brazilian black beans with rice or any other side dish you like
