Fontana Russian Introductions

This is a great recipe for hearty Brazilian black beans that are cooked to perfection in a pressure cooker. When you mix spices with vegetables, you get a tasty and healthy dish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups black beans, dried
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups water

Instructions:

Clean the black beans by running them under cold water

Put olive oil in the pressure cooker and heat it over medium strength

Put in the minced garlic, chopped onion, and diced bell pepper

Saut until the meat is soft

Add the paprika and cumin powder and stir them in

Cook for two more minutes

Put in the black beans that have been rinsed, the bay leaf, salt, and pepper

Combine well

Put in the water and mix it in

Put the pressure cookers lid back on and cook for 25 minutes on high pressure

Let the pressure drop naturally for 10 minutes, and then carefully let go of any extra pressure

Make sure the beans are soft

If you need to, cook for 5 to 10 minutes longer

You can eat the Brazilian black beans with rice or any other side dish you like
